Jake Murray assumes sole ownership of Donnini Apartments as Laurence Malyon makes the decision to exit after 7 successful years of partnership.

After seven successful years of joint ownership of Donnini Apartments, Jake Murray will take on responsibility of taking Donnini forward as Laurence Malyon leaves to focus on new ventures.

Together, the duo has played a pivotal role in establishing Donnini Apartments as a premium accommodation provider in Ayrshire. Under their leadership, the company has become a key market player in the region’s accommodation industry, creating memorable experiences for guests and contributing positively to the local community. Donnini currently operates over 50 stunning apartments and houses as well as the recently refurbished Kylestrome Hotel, all powered by their team of over 20 brilliant employees.

Jake Murray expresses his gratitude for the 7 years of collaboration and shared success, stating,

"I am grateful to have had Laurence as a business partner. He has certainly brought key contributions to Donnini since inception and ultimately helped get the business to where it is today. This decision was not taken lightly. We have discussed it at length for months and it’s been incredibly difficult to keep it between us but it’s a decision we made together and it’s great that we are able to move onto the next chapters of our lives on good terms. I am excited to continue the journey on my own, upholding and improving the standards of excellence that we have set together whilst looking to the future with a very positive outlook on where I can take the brand.".

Laurence Malyon, departing co-founder, explains the reasoning behind his exit:

"I am immensely grateful for the incredible journey we've shared together at Donnini Apartments. Every successful business needs to unite around a single vision; however, it’s been clear after several productive and healthy discussions that we are no longer aligned on the future direction of the business and agreed to part ways to follow our own ambitions. We started Donnini as friends, and we will also part as friends. Our shared history and mutual respect for each other have paved the way for this amicable transition.".

The duo admits that for many connections, colleagues, and friends this news will be unexpected, and Laurence extends his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has supported the business and himself personally over the years.

"We know that many will be surprised, but we want to express our sincere thanks to all those who have supported us from the early days as the young ‘Donnini Boys' to the entrepreneurs that we are today.".

Jake Murray, remaining at the helm of Donnini Apartments, will focus on continuing to strengthen the Donnini brand while improving and adding to the service they provide to guests, landlords and investors.

“We have an exciting time ahead of us, a lot of things are happening in our sector, and I want Donnini to be at the forefront of providing premium accommodation throughout Ayrshire. The Kylestrome and partner restaurant, The Stravaig, have helped add yet another positive contribution to our local community and we want to help Ayrshire become a destination for both leisure and business guests,”

Adds Jake Murray.

Both Laurence and Jake wish each other the very best in their respective endeavours. "We truly believe that this is the right step for both of us individually, and that this is what’s best for the continued success of Donnini and our team," adds Jake Murray, emphasizing the collective understanding that the decision is in the best interest of everyone involved.

The legacy of Donnini Apartments will undoubtedly continue under Jake's stewardship, as Laurence looks forward to exploring new horizons in the ever-evolving property and hospitality industries.
