Seaside Ice Cream: Super Spots For A Scoop In Ayrshire

It's officially summertime, and that warm weather (hopefully) isn't going anywhere for a while... That means only one thing, right? A trip to the seaside! And as you know, no seaside trip is complete without some delicious, homemade ice cream!

Renaldo’s, Ayr Seafront

Opening in 1920 in the seaside town of Ayr, this landmark shop has been handed down through generations of proud Italian owners. For 30 years current owners, Linda and Silvio Galli, have worked hard to transform the original shop into the favourite and ‘weel kent’ shop that is today, loved by locals and tourists alike. Linda and Silvio still use the much-loved, and original, old fashioned Italian Gelato recipes. The recipes are a delicious and healthier alternative to Ice Cream at only 3% fat and 130 calories per scoop. Keeping to their traditional recipe, they also ensure they use the best local milk from Mossgiel Farm making it truly “coo to cone”.

Nardini’s, Largs Seafront

Scotland's most famous cafe, restaurant & ice cream parlour re-opened in December of 2008 following a multi million pound refurbishment that has seen the landmark art deco building restored to its past glory with a new contemporary feel. Originally open in 1935, Nardini's is synonymous with a trip "doon the water" making it a must if you are visiting Largs.

The Classic Nardini Cafe with it's beautiful surroundings and panoramic views of the Clyde which all make it an experience not to be missed.

They say money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy Costley’s Ayrshire ice cream, which is one of the many delicacies we serve at Costley's patisserie. Over thirty flavours of indulgent, truly heavenly, freshly made Artisan ice cream.

Michele Mancini Owner of The Ice Cream Factory Michele has been in the ice cream business for over 30 years and in business on his own for 12 so really knows his stuff! He is an expert in ice cream and confectionery manufacture and his years of experience have contributed to the delicious range of products that are available through the Ice Cream Factory ice cream parlour in Troon and the range of off-site services that cater for weddings, events and shows throughout Ayrshire and beyond.
