We Said We’d Try Harder and Now We’re Taking Action! ♻️

A few weeks ago, we shared our ‘Dogreeni’ sustainability plan for 2026.

We’re delighted to announce that this week we’ve taken a proper step forward by officially rolling out our first smart home system in one of our properties, Waverley Suite No57.

The centrally managed smart home system gives us much more control over how energy is used across our portfolio, without changing the experience for our guests. In fact, if anything, it will improve the experience!

So, what does that actually mean?

In simple terms, the new system allows us to monitor and manage things like heating and energy usage in real time. The system can save us an impressive 32% on energy consumption, which across 70 properties is massive!

It also means no more guesswork. No more estimates. Actual, live data.

Some of the many benefits of the system include:

• Reduction of unnecessary heating when a property is empty (one of our biggest challenges!).

• Avoiding energy being used when it doesn’t need to be.

• Spotting unusual usage which will help us to fix issues quickly.

• Keeping homes comfortable for guests throughout their stay.

It’s all happening quietly behind the scenes but it will make a big difference.

Less wasted energy.
Smarter homes.
More responsible growth.

The good news is that we’re not planning to stop at 1!

 We’ll be rolling this system out across more of our properties throughout 2026, helping us to build a clearer picture of our overall energy usage and to continue reducing our impact as we grow our portfolio.
